Fanny Andersen brings an infectiously catchy electro beat to the table with new single ‘Complicated’. She took a moment to talk to us about the inspirations behind her music.

Who are you top three musical inspirations?
Right now it is Frank Ocean, Tove Lo and Rex orange county because they’re the artist i think i listen the most to. I love the way Frank Ocean writes music, i love Tove Lo’s edginess and honesty and just the vibe of Rex Orange County’s music is what i want to do in my music as well. Even tho it’s not the same genre as me, other then Tove Lo, it’s what they make me feel when i listen to it i want to achieve in my music.

Is there a certain film that inspires you?
This maybe sound strange but Earl me and the dying girl is one of my favourite films ever. If i feel really uninspired i always watch it. I think it’s so beautifully made. How it’s edited, graded and the storyline. Talking about such a sensitive subject in the perfect way.  That one and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. What an amazing movie.

What city do you find the most inspiring?
London. London has been my favourite city since the first time i was there in 2007. The buildings, the vibe, the chaos. I just love London so much. I can sit on the bus on my way to the studio and feel full of inspirations just by the views from the bus. Haha!

Who is the most inspiring person to you?
I know this is the most cliché answer ever, but my parents. My mom is such a beautiful, powerful women who’s not afraid to tell you what she thinks. She’s fearless, but still vulnerable.  My dad is caring, sweet and has this endless love for the people close to him. He’s always been my biggest supporter, and i would never do this if it wasn’t for him always believing in me. They are both my biggest inspiration.

How would you like to inspire people?
I want people to understand that even if your having a bad time, theres always light at the end of the tunnel. Nothing is forever. Especially with those really dark times. And that it’s not scary to talk about it. We should talk about it, not hide it.
