Let us introduce you to twenty-two year old new comer Gia Lily - who has just released her debut track ‘Signs’. Having gained a passionate and ever-growing fanbase by writing songs and collaborating with fans via TikTok.  ‘Signs’ is a little piece of pop perfection that focuses on the pains and very specific personal experiences that comes with heartbreak. Gia took a moment to talk to us about her music and debut track.

Hey there, Gia Lily - how are you? So your debut track is finally here. It is called ‘Signs’ - can you tell us what it is about?
Hey! Thank you so much for having me!
‘Signs’ was originally written as a piano ballad, about seeing your ex with someone new, but you know he’s still caught up on you (“pretend you still ignore me while you’re looking at my stories”, “I know that you’re watching from a distance”).
However, when I took it to studio, I didn’t want it to be sad anymore - rather I wanted to turn the pain into beauty and create a feeling of empowerment.

Where are you based - what are your favorite things to do there?
I’m based in the best city in the world - London! (-not biased at all hahah). So many things, the best part about London is that no matter what corner you turn, there’s something going on. It’s the most inspiring place to live. Piccadilly Circus is a personal fav of mine, and watching West End shows.

What are your key influences when it comes to your music?
My main music influences are Freddie Mercury, Dua Lipa, Charli XCX and Gwen Stefani. Not only are they incredible artists with their music, but the visions they create are so inspiring and individual, which is something I’ve always been so passionate about. Being your own person and owning who you are.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never listened to your music before?
Sad-girl turned sassy-girl pop. Period.

Now the new track is out there, what next for you?
A lot is in store for 2022! But first, releasing more music and performing my first headline show is something that I'm very excited for and we’re working on now!
