This week’s Artist of the Week is cowboy pop-star Dreamer Boy, who has just released his new album ‘All The Ways We Are Together’. With the album being released in sync with Earth Day - one of the key pieces of imagery used throughout these collection of songs - which celebrate community and connectivity. Zach took a moment to talk us about how the album came together.

Hey there Dreamer Boy - how are you? So your new album is out now - how does it feel to have it out there in the world?
This is a moment in time I have anticipated for a while now, and it’s funny how when something like this arrives, you are just swept up in the reality of it all, not what you expected, but exactly what it was supposed to be all along.

How does it differ from your debut?
I think I discovered some sounds and identity that make me unique, I am still on that journey but this one definitely experimented more, and allowed me and my team to uncover some new truths about DB through the process.

It is titled ‘All The Ways We Are Together’ - is there any meaning behind that?
Yes, there is, that meaning is very loose at this point, what started as a love album has turned into an opportunity to grow a community and highlight the oneness that connects us all. We are super excited to continue the ATWWAT mission post album with non profit efforts, events, and beyond.

Where was it recorded? Any behind the scenes stories from the creative process you are happy to share with us?
Mostly in Nashville, we wrote a lot of the initial ideas on our first tour in 2019. It was such an inspiring time and once we got things to a good place we finished it over the course of 3 weeks in Los Angeles at one of my best friend's house studios. His name is Conrad.

You have decided to release it on Earth Day - was that by choice? If so, why?
The Earth has always been imagery that has been associated with the album’s creation… As the release date planning came near, Earth Day seemed like such a perfect way to rally around something bigger than us. That's all we are trying to do  is bring people together with this record. It's been fun to explore ways to help our communities environmental efforts and we have partnered with One Tree Planted as well as Root Nashville for some initiatives on Earth Day and around the release.

What are the key themes and influences on the album?
Friendship, love, understanding, and patience.

The album itself is quite colorful with it’s mixture of sounds - if it could be a color - which one would it be? And why?
It would be a prism, almost like a clear color… when light hits it, it bursts into every color.

You knew from a young age you wanted to be a performer, so what are some of your fondest childhood memories from that?
Dancing in the aisles at Baylor Basketball games as a kid. I used to get on the big screen doing some crazy lil moves.

Do you have a favorite lyric on the album? If so, which one and why?
“I don’t want to be a burden” on the outro All Or Nothing.

Now the album is out there - what next for you?
I want to finish the next one and keep it running. Dreamrunner.
