Download 2021 is back! Headliners Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Enter Shikari and Bullet For My Valentine blaze a triumphant trail for live music!

Last week, Download Festival announced a three-day, camping only festival for the weekend of June 18-20; three weeks from now, 10,000 lucky people will descend on Donington Park.

That feels crazy to write.

The test-event will, understandably, require a negative test on entry; not to mention, it’s camping only — leaving of the grounds would introduce new risk of contamination to the experiment, so that’s a no-no. But aside from that? No masks, no social distancing, and hopefully a lot of moshing.

Following on from the optimistic findings of a series of pilot shows taking place in Liverpool at the start of May — such as the 5,000 capacity show played by Blossoms, The Lathums, Zuzu and DJ Katie Owen — Download 2021 will act as the next phase of the Government’s Events Research Programme.

Its going well would signal amazing things for the Summer as a positive outcome would encourage the advancement of a number of other events and festivals; hence, Download haven’t held anything back with the lineup for this monumental milestone. Alongside headliners Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Enter Shikari and Bullet For My Valentine, the lineup highlights some of the best bands British rock has to offer, across two stacked stages.

With a total capacity of ‘only’ 10,000 festival-goers, tickets for this event will disappear like gold dust. But if you’re a Download 2022 ticket holder you may be in luck, with pre-sale tickets available two days prior to general sale.

Tickets are available from Thursday 3rd June; pre-sale tickets available from Tuesday 1st June.
