Hey Garage Sale, how are you? So your new single ‘Bus’ is out now - can you tell us what it is about?
Well it was written in lockdown last year and explores some of the themes that were going through my head at that time. I found myself worrying a lot and it was a song about trying to rid myself of fear and worry.
You are based in a small coastal surfing town called Lennox Head - what are your favorite things to do there?
We are currently based in Melbourne but we are from Lennox Head. I will always love that area, the northern NSW coastline is a literal paradise.
How have you spent lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic?
Basically I have been spending time writing music and recording demos, when I'm not doing that I'm usually drinking coffee in bed or going for a walk or a skate.
What are your key influences when it comes to your music?
As a band we draw influence from all the great new of dream pop inspired indie such as Snail Mail as well as bands such as Narrow Head and Ovlov.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never listened to your music before?
Shimmery.
Now the track is out there - what next for you?
We have an album to release! However frankly not much tour prospects because of COVID. But keep your ear out for more Garage Sale because you will not have to wait long for the next single!
