Manchester four-piece Faux Pas recently dropped ‘This Will Kill You’, the first lead single from their forthcoming EP I Feel Pretty And So Should You. They took the time to tell us what inspires them.

Who are your top three musical inspirations?

Hi there! It's difficult to answer across the board for all of us but I'd say a good even mix we all love would be Radiohead, Wand and Queens of the stone age.

What city do you find the most inspiring?

Hull. It has so much going on all the time, small towns/cities such as itself tend to have a resilience that lends itself to creativity. Beautiful city, beautiful people.

Who is the most inspiring person to you?

Keanu Reeves.

What were the inspirations for your recent single ‘This Will Kill You’?

Doom. It's always hard to tell at the time of writing but looking back I think its very theatrical; joeys backing vocals are like a terrifying musical theatre and there's a lot of call and response stuff going on.

Similarly, how about the forthcoming EP it’s taken from?

It has the same theatrical edge with each track being like a different act/chapter...I don't want to give too much away. I think a key inspiration for it was each other, we did a lot of talking and listening to each others experiences throughout the recording. Mickey Dale also compared it to Fugazi multiple times a day while he was recording it so I'll have to say that as well.

Finally, how do you hope to inspire people?

Through this upcoming ep 'I Feel Pretty, So Should You' ; the concept is something we hope can bring people to feel strength through sharing their vulnerability with others.
