Devo, First Aid Kit, and Spiritualized to headline Green Man 2023

Today we see the long-awaited reveal of Green Man Festival's 2023 lineup. With tickets once again selling out in record time at the end of last year, the organisers have kept their cards close to their chest with this one, having not announced a single name until 1st March - St David's Day - and it's definitely a day with much cause for celebration across Wales.

Returning to its idyllic home in the Brecon Beacons, this year's jam-packed lineup is led by the 80s new-wave avant garde legends Devo, who have just announced a string of "farewell" dates for August spanning 50 years of the band's existence. The beautiful sound of Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit will fit perfectly among the mountains as they return to the festival for the first time since 2014. And the kaleidoscopic star-crossing Spiritualized complete the headliners of what it set to be an ethereal weekend.

Among over 85 other names announced, Aussie punks Amyl & the Sniffers will bring their raucous live show to the stage, and sleazy fiends Warmduscher are bound to bring the party late into the night. Shoegaze pioneers Slowdive return, as well as jazz-punk trio The Comet Is Coming, and firm festival favorites Squid will be back with their new album O Monolith to show off. There's also the massive sound of Young Fathers and indie originals The Walkmen on the bill. Mysterious creatures GOAT will bring their psychedelic chaos, and vibe-bringing extraordinaires Confidence Man are set to make you sweat. As a festival that's always ready for some savage social commentary, the likes of Bob Vylan and Billy Nomates are bound to be big hitters. Meanwhile bands like Irish noisemakers Gilla Band and the cacophonous Crows will be here to make the mountains shake.

Consistently at the forefront of new music, it's now a well-known fact that the Green Man lineup is a discovery paradise for the latest up-and-coming bands. This year sees the likes of Water From Your Eyes, Fat Dog, Deathcrash, uh, Lilo are some of the first fresh names announced, with likely many more to come as well as their Green Man Rising competition winners.

With yet another stellar lineup, this won't be one to miss for those lucky enough to have bagged a ticket. And if you're now on the hunt then head to fanticks.com as the only official reselling site. Good luck and see you in the mountains!
