SOAK - Live @ Koko 22/03/2016

Koko is a big venue to play, but Bridie Monds-Watson, otherwise known as SOAK had no trouble filling it with just her and her guitar this evening.

SOAK turned a few heads recently with a Mercury award nomination for the beautiful 'Before We Forgot How To Dream', which even after just one listen you can understand why it got the attention it deserved. Despite the size of the venue and she seems to be in a world of her own, a world that she allows us to be involved in. The first three songs are stripped back to just her with a guitar, where after every songs the artist feels surprised by the crowds response.

She spends the rest of the evening taking us on an emotional journey, as her voice carries through the venue, draining up every feeling the audience has with the capacity of how touching each track is. SOAK is clearly made up of huge amount of potential, so lets hope she can back up her debut album with an equally as stunning follow up. Judging by how that set went this evening, she is giving herself a flying head start.
