Live Review: Evanescene & Arcane Roots - Eventim Apollo, London 14/06/2017

Evanescene headed back to the UK for their first show in London since 2012, fans queued eagerly waiting to catch their set in the Eventim Apollo. The vibe around the venue was full of anticipation and excitement from fans to catch them back performing together.

Ahead of their own UK tour later this year, Arcane Roots took to the stage for two dates with Evanescence. The Kingston based alternative rock trio played songs of their Heaven and Earth EP before introducing their latest release, ‘Matter’. The crowd were bobbing along to the music, a perfect warm up set. After seeing Arcane Roots on a few different occasions, I can say the only way is up for this group.

Evanescence graced the stage with a set full of old and new tracks but their iconic favourites ‘Going Under’, ‘My Immortal’ and ‘Bring Me To Life’ were the ones that raised the roof off the place, the crowd were crazy, crowd surfers and dancing everywhere! Amy stripped it back by taking to the piano for some of their slower numbers which left a few watery eyes throughout. The whole set was well put together, full of energy and the crowd were engaging with every word.

What a comeback from Evanescence.
