The Artist Explains: Amani - 'The Earth Evolved'
South London visionary Amani speaks to us about the striking motion graphic music video which accompanies her inspired single, ‘The Earth Evolved’.'
The Earth Involved' is a dense, dark and exhilarating piece of soulful electronica that dredges murky sonic depths and journeys ethereal, shivering highs, leaving its listener feeling like something special just happened. The track is taken from Amani's debut EP ‘Perpendicular’ which is out today!
How did you come up with the idea to use motion graphics for 'The Earth Evolved' music video?
The idea behind visual effects stems from the love of motion graphics.
Is there a storyline to the visuals?
The storyline is a bold statement of birth and death. The flower at the beginning evolves into a mouth in which inside the mouth is a fetus, the fetus breaks free into a human form and sits in transit. Gradually the body is pulled by several hands appearing from underneath. The after mass is a ball of energy oscillating.
How does the video connect with the song?
'The Earth Evolved' single relates to the visual in the way both are linked to the idea of birth & evolving matter, it can be quite dark and heavy. The song is an emotive dramatic piece in which ties nicely with the visual.
Could you tell us about the ideas/ themes/ imagery used?
It’s a interpretation of life’s cycle, in a very abstract way.
What do you hope people take away from watching the video?
Something beautiful.
