Single Review: Adam Barnes - 'Electron'

Oxford singer songwriter Adam Barnes  shares thoughtfully crafted folk offering, 'Electron'.
Adam Barnes' 'Electron' is an attentive and imaginative folk song that centers around the true life story of  failing businessman Donald Crowhurst - an amateur sailor who tragically died during the 60s, while competing in the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race (a solo round-the-world yacht race with the promise of winning a cash prize).

Awash with sincerity and emotion, Adam Barnes' vocal  emotively ebbs and flows between gently swelling strings section, evocative guitar work and  tremendous horns. Donald Crowhurst's story sees him  setting off on his sailing vessel,  Teignmouth Electron, before abandoning the race, while still radioing back his fictious positions without actually "leaving the Atlantic". The track crescendos cinematically alongside the pinnacle plot revelation,  following Donald Crowhurst's imaginable thought process as he surrenders to insanity, suggestively leading to his suicide.

Adam Barnes intricately and lovingly crafts his music with the intention of making people feel, believe and connect with every second of the raw feeling invested into them. With its unique and enthralling lyrical content, 'Electron' will have you hanging on every emotionally charged word and drastically beautiful arrangement.
