The Band Explains: Fizzy Blood - 'ADHD' (Video)
The next few months are going to be busy for Fizzy Blood, as they hit the road this week with Spring King and then do their own headline tour at the end of February. The lads recently revealed the new video for their single 'ADHD', which is weird, colorful and completely what we love about Fizzy Blood.
We had a chat with their guitarist Paul Howells about the video.
Where and how was the video filmed?
We filmed this over the course of a few days in between some touring last year, in a warehouse space outside London.
How does the video compliment the song? Tell us about the ideas behind it?
The song was written about my experiences with ADHD. We had lots of different ideas for the video before we settled with this one. We tried to reflect this experience by using all our ideas in one video so the viewer would be overwhelmed and distracted by everything going on. It was a lot of fun to shoot.
Any behind the scenes stories?
One scene that took the name of 'Slug Painting' was pretty surreal, we'd all had about three hours sleep and had been shooting all day at this point only to be told it was time to chuck on some speedos, lather ourselves in paint and slide over each other while Benji (vocals) sat and egged us on and generally made us feel worse.
There are lots of multiple screen stories going on in this video. How did you come up with each one?
The combination of ideas in this was a real collaborative effort between us and the directors. We really wanted them to all contrast each other, and almost make it impossible to follow each story line.
You are heading out on tour with Spring King and also a headline tour in March. How excited are you?
We couldn't be more excited to tour with Spring King, we're all really big fans so to be asked to do that was really special for us. Same goes for the headline tour, it's kind of a trip into the unknown but we're really enjoying being able to put a set together for an audience who might even know our songs haha.
ADHD is taken from EP Summer Of Luv, which was released in September last year on Killing Moon. It follows previous singles, Pawn and Summer Of Luv.
