Finally some Reading and Leeds Festival News!

The speculation is over, we finally have some Reading and Leeds festival news! The long-awaited announcement has been revealed yesterday and no, Arctic Monkeys aren’t a headliner!

With R&L being the UKs last major event in the festival calendar, it’s always later than other festivals to release any line-up information, but now we know. Fall Out Boy, Kendrick Lamar and Kings of Leon will be headlining the festivals across the August Bank Holiday weekend. Some of the must-see bands featuring across the weekend include Wolf Alice, Panic! at the Disco, Courteeners, Dream Wife, The Magic Gang and Sum 41.

Names are still to be added to the line-up, but initially it looks a bit all over the place. However, when looking in more detail we can see how the variation of genres fit together to create a pretty spot on line-up.

Reading and Leeds has always been known as an indie rock festival, but now we can see new genres across the line-up. Coinciding with GCSE results day, both R&L are conventionally festivals with a younger crowd. Perhaps this genre variation seen in the line-up is moving with the times, and will help sell to a wider audience. Regardless, it’s one of the UKs best festivals, so surely they are going to be as good as ever.

Reading and Leeds will take place between 24th-26th August 2018. Day tickets are set to be released shortly, while weekend camping tickets can be purchased now for £205 here.
