Single Review: Wylderness - 'Peripheral Vision'

November 2017 saw the release of “72 and Sunny”, the debut single from Cardiff-London based band Wydlerness. Prior to the release of their self titled debut album on 23rd March 2018, we are given a taste of things to come through the release of their second single Peripheral Vision.

Peripheral Vision opens with ethereal guitars and a steady, driving beat that continues throughout to frame the song with a 90’s shoegaze vibe - perfect for fans of My Bloody Valentine, Slowdrive and DIIV.

The song is delivered through hazy vocals, and it’s one of those tracks you can listen to again and again, all while appreciating the developing momentum at every corner.

The band are already championed by the likes of Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and BBC 6 music’s Steve Lamacq, and if Peripheral Vision is anything to go by, then I’d say Wylderness are a band to watch in 2018.
