EP Review: Jumanji - 'For Now'
Brighton sextet Jumanji are taking the world on at the moment, jumping on their first solo tour this week but more importantly releasing their Debut EP, ‘For Now’.
Ever since we heard Jumanji’s single ‘Swings and Roundabouts’ there was no doubt that their debut EP wasn't going to disappoint. This five track EP is fun, bouncy and but also packs a punch.
This EP contains previously released hits, ‘Higher’ and ‘Swings and Roundabouts’ which are two absolute bangers, they are full of energy and provide nothing but sheer joy. Additionally, there are three new songs; a personal favourite has to be ‘Alyssa’. There is a slight haunting feel about this track which is nostalgic of Wolf Alice mixed with London Grammar.
The title track ‘For Now’ is so beautifully created; lead vocalist Neneh Atkins has such a beautifully rich voice which is almost absorbing. Listening to this song is like viewing a piece of art for the first time, you notice different tones and elements every single time. It is a gift that keeps giving.
