Listen: Benny Mails - 'Buried Alive'

South London rapper Benny Mails has released his new single 'Buried Alive', which showcases his full talents with his genre pushing style and pace. Having recently been invited to open for Ghostface Killah and Raekon at the Troxy, he is making appearances at a number of festivals this summer, including The Great Escape Festival this month.

The track is the most dominating thing he has put out so far, with tough beats mixing with a psychedelic vibe with some intense lyrics shows us that Benny Mails is young talent we should all be paying attention too. 'Buried Alive', writes Bennny, "is about the pressure of needing the amount of money you need in London to survive, and on the other hand not letting it become something that’s overwhelming emotionally. It’s about not allowing yourself to be stuck in the grip of debt."

The track gives us a glimpse into Benny's unusual background, having been brought up into the South London's grime scene while also discovering funk and jazz via his family's record collection. And you can get that in his music, as he pushes the boundaries on his genre, which puts him out there miles ahead of the pack.

Benny Mails at the following shows this spring.

11th May - The Troxy (supporting Raekwon & Ghostface Killah).
17th May - The Great Escape Festival
