Single Review: The Blinders - 'L'Etat C'est Moi'

Three piece alternative rock group The Blinders have released their new single 'L'Etat C'est Moi' which oozes confidence & has a no nonsense punk attitude.

Doncaster based band The Blinders have been causing a storm in the alternative music scene in the UK with some terrific EP releases, national airplay on Radio X , BBC Introducing & BBC Radio 6 music and being critically acclaimed by many musicians including Miles Kane. Kane has stated previously that The Blinders were 'A mega new band, Tarantino meets Ultimate Warrior meets The Damned'. With the new single 'L'Etat C'est Moi' you have to believe that the hype is real.

'L'Etat C'est Moi' is a quote by Grand Monarch Louis XIV translating as 'I Am The State' in which he expressed how France were at the peak of their Powers. I almost believe the translation is a fitting to the theme of the song, it's really strong with such a big personality. The song is very dark & has a really filthy garage rock side which makes this such a cool song. 'L'Etat C'est Moi' is imperfectly perfect which is exactly what punk is all about.

I'm so excited for this band because I feel The Blinders have something which separates them from everyone else, songs like 'L'Etat C'est Moi' will only grow their popularity more & show people why their the real deal.
