Single Review: Slowcoaches - 'Found Down'

Slowcoaches return with the fiery punk single ‘Found Down’ ahead of a spring tour across the UK.

For fans of Wolf Alice and Slaves, Slowcoaches new single takes inspiration from ‘Fell in Love with a Girl’ and ‘Sockets’. However, the track stands on its own two legs as punk perfection. Its scuzzy guitars have the power to make your ears bleed and the guitar solo is meaty and gnarly like a chained pit bull barking at its aggressors. There’s loads of feedback to – exactly what I want from a dirty punk track! Heather Perkins voice competes with the guitars in a competition to see how pissed off they can get as she delivers a social commentary on the mundanity of the day to day struggle in life (‘How did you get so cool? / … / How did you get so cruel?’). The drums are powerful and thunderous like a high-speed freight train with no intention of slowing down. If you can’t handle it, get out of the way. ‘Found Down’ explodes through the speakers from the off, the aggression never lets down for the two and half minutes of the song. Slowcoaches are taking no prisoners and are giving zero shits. They embrace the chaos and frustration that surrounds them and turn it into art.
