Kagoule - 'It's Not My Day'
Nottingham trio, Kagoule have just released their latest single, ‘It’s Not My Day’ which is taken from their upcoming album ‘Strange Entertainment’ due to be released on 26th October on Alcopop! Records.
‘It’s Not My Day’ is all rattling grungy guitar and rumbling bass, with the signature velvet vocals of bassist/vocalist Lucy Hatter that dip in and out of the piercing high notes of early Hayley Williams of Paramore and the breathy whisperings of Kim Deal from The Breeders. The song finds itself weaving tales of insecurity, over the thrashing funky drum beat; “the colour seeps slowly out of me when its only you and I.”
Speaking of ‘It’s Not My Day’ frontman Cai Burns says; “It’s Not My Day was the beginning of ‘Strange Entertainment’. It’s hard to remember the exact moments that inspired a song but I think this is one about keeping it together in front of people and situations that intimate you. There were lots of changes happening at that time and I needed to remind myself to face up to them.”
