Nina Nesbitt - 'Colder'

Nina Nesbit is singing out for a generation of women who are wanting more for themselves; to be empowered and not let anyone get in the way of becoming the best version of yourself, all the while being a strong feminist and trying to lift up the women around you.

‘Colder’ is the latest single taken from her upcoming album ‘The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change’ and is about the changes you go through when you experience a break-up, or negativity in relationships; “Don’t you wanna stay? Don’t you wanna try? Putting up a fight; deep down know you could try.” Speaking of the song, Nina says it was the last song she wrote for the album and it was “written after watching young kids in love and how hopelessly they fall for each other because they’ve most likely not had their heart broken before.”

This follows on from the previous singles, ‘The Best You Had’ ‘Somebody Special’ and ‘Loyal To Me’ which details trying to figure out whether or not someone is good for you, and making sure they have to work for any kind of affection that you’d be willing to give to them. Where ‘Loyal To Me’ feels like a cross between TLC’s 'No Scrubs' and Christina Aguilera’s 'Genie In a Bottle', the latest single ‘Colder’ is chilled, atmospheric pop that is full of silky layered vocals. This is a completely new direction for Nina Nesbit, since her debut album ‘Peroxide’ was much more folk and acoustic. There has clearly been a lot of growth and maturity in her life, in the last 5 years, and it is clearly reflected in the more experimental sounds of the latest releases.
