Video: Puma Blue - 'Moon Undah Water'
Puma Blue has released a video for ‘Moon Undah Water’, a fan favorite for this rising South London musician. The visuals from the video channel that husky late night vibe of his music. Directed by Netti Hurley, whose previous video credits include Coping for David, and Adidas.
“Jacob’s music inspires a lot of feeling, in a kind of effortless way, so wanted the video to reflect this. Lo-fi relaxed candid and intimate. Submerged feelings and thoughts, dreamlike, poetic but very DIY.” Explains Hurley: “Spontaneously shot, with no plan, just wandering across London with a camcorder.”
Jacob Allen (Puma Blue) adds: “It ended up sort of becoming this old karaoke video, and we kind of tried to embrace that. I liked the idea of this song being forgotten about and then brought out at a karaoke bar in 50 years as a kind of ace up the sleeve of someone who happens to randomly know it.”
‘Moon Undah Water’ has been part of his live set for a while now, and Puma Blue was finally inspired to record the track. It fuses a mixture of soul and jazz with a punk energy vibe. Puma Blue has announced his second run of headline shows this October, climaxing at London’s Scala on the 23rd October.
