Slam Dunk gets heavy

The latest Slam Dunk Festival announcement really filled out the line up. It was announced last week that the Impericon Stage would be just one of TWO heavy stages at SDF19, with no clashes between the two. The Bronx, Cancer Bats, and Angel Du$t join the line up alongside previously announced Glassjaw, Gallows, Turnstile, and Knocked Loose. If you’re heading to this stage at either venue, prepare yourself for one incredible mosh pit - it’s gonna be a fun one.

Metalcore legends Atreyu will be playing the festival for the first time and will no doubt be playing a tantalising combination of new and classic tracks from their huge back catalogue. Current metalcore/alternative giants and Slam Dunk Festival regulars The Word Alive will also be joining them.

Slam Dunk has also pleased it’s huge crowds with the promise of multiple genres all coming together on one site, and this year is no different. We’ve got nostalgic vibes from Silverstein, The Story So Far and Simple Plan and of course headliners All Time Low and New Found Glory, but modern pop-punk isn’t forgotten about either. After signing with Hopeless Records just last year, new kids on the block WSTR will be joining their label buddies MILK TEETH, along with Real Friends, Seaway and Trophy Eyes to bring the pop-punk fun that Slam Dunk always does so well.

When Slam Dunk announced last year that their Midlands date would be cut, a lot of people were disappointed. But this is a festival that seems to only be growing. With a huge new North venue, a South venue that was upgraded just last year, and of course another eclectic and exciting line-up, this year’s Slam Dunk Festival could be bigger and better than ever.
