Tiny Moving Parts - 'For the Sake of Brevity' / 'Fish Bowl'

There isn’t a band out there that ticks all of the boxes that Tiny Moving Parts do, and they’re back with more of their extremely passionate math rock/emo blend.

The Minnesota trio, Tiny Moving Parts return with a two-track single For The Sake of Brevity/Fish Bowl. Almost a full year since Album number 6, the rich technical style hasn’t left their bones, and thats for the better.  The first track For The Sake of Brevity, originally recorded as part of the bands second album Moving to Antartica, is a refreshing but emotional piece, opening up slowly with an almost melancholic tone, before introducing Dylans perhaps aggressive but heartfelt vocals. Unlike the original the introduction of drums thoroughly improves the feeling of anguish that the lyrics portray throughout. The sheer emotion created by the three musicians is quite mind blowing to say the least.

Fish Bowl, is certainly a much more upbeat tune. If you were to introduce your friends to Tiny Moving Parts, perhaps this is the song you’d show them first. Throughout, you hear exactly what Tiny Moving Parts do best; a beautiful blend of chords, tapping and emotionally driven vocals. The two tracks together don’t stray from the band we know and love, and join a collection of heartfelt in the distinct style that is Tiny Moving Parts.
