Lucille Furs - 'Paint Euphrosyne Blue'

Lucille Furs take you on a 60s psychedelic acid trip in ‘Paint Euphrosyne Blue’.

Lucille Furs are a throwback to the 60s. They sound like Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd psychedelia, with harpsichord parts akin to Ray Manzarek of The Doors, whilst vocally and melodically they remind me of The Kinks. But this isn’t a boring revival or rip-off. ‘Paint Euphrosyne Blue’ sounds fresh, modern and exciting. It’s catchy enough for everyone to enjoy, but there is always a hint of psychedelic weirdness going on.

The guitars start clean but morph into a wall of delayed fuzzy feedback. And there aren’t many bands that feature a harpsichord as a primary instrument in the band. Plus, it’s a song you can dance to, chill out to, and party to. Lucille Furs are one to watch. Of the new rock guitar bands that are coming up now, these offer something a little different from the norm.
