Crows – ‘Chain of Being’

‘Chain of Being’ – a blissful and energetic atmosphere of post punk.

Crows are the latest band to sign to Joe Talbot of IDLES’ record label, Balley Records. They are set to release their debut album in March and ‘Chain of Being’ is the first taste of what we can expect. I can’t express how excited I am!

I have been following Crows for at least a couple of years and noticed that they had slipped under the radar recently. They have re-emerged with new single ‘Chain of Being’ and it does not disappoint. From the driving drum opening by Sam Lister and the Ian Curtis inspired, powerful and haunting vocals courtesy of James Cox, to the dirty and droning guitar and bass work by Steve Goddard and Jith Amarasinghe, ‘Chain of Being’ packs a punch. There’s a cool guitar break in the middle that sounds almost backwards, then Steve repeats the same two notes over and over. Brilliant!

If you like bands such as IDLES, Shame and LICE then check ‘Chains of Being’ out. Crows will be your new favourite band.
