Springfield Elementary - '5 Second Rule'
Springfield Elementary get a little bluesy and groovy in their latest release, ‘Five Second Rule’.
‘5 Second Rule’ is Springfield Elementary’s second single. The Manchester band show a different side to themselves – as song writers and performers. Their debut ‘Machine Fiend’ combines the attitude of 70s punk with 00s garage rock. ‘5 Second Rule’ is very much a different side of the same coin. Springfield Elementary don’t disregard these influences, but ‘5 Second Rule’ is slower, more groove-based, and bluesy than its predecessor. Which is cool.
But don’t worry, Springfield Elementary fans, there is still fire and attitude in ‘5 Second Rule’. Midway through, the song gets faster and more upbeat. The music is reminiscent of 60s rock n’ roll guitars, whilst the vocals take on the classic singing/shouting/barking delivery often favoured by 70s punk bands.
