Well Seafret are full of announcements this week, their new album ‘Most Of Us Are Strangers’ will be out February 2020, and along with that they have announced a mammoth of UK and European tour. They took a moment to talk to us about their new single ‘Fall’, which is a small taster of what we can expect from this album.

Your new single ‘Fall’ is out now, can you tell us what the track is about?
As with all our songs, there’s a lot of underlying meanings, but mostly fall is about not giving up when things aren’t going to plan, and finding that determination to carry on.

Where was the track recorded? Who produced the track? Are there any behind the scenes stories from the recording process?
We recorded Fall up in Scotland with producer Ross Hamilton. We’ve used Ross for the entire of this album. He adds so much more than production. He’s a brilliant musician and an incredible writer, we get on very well.

The track comes with quite a powerful video, where was the visuals filmed?
Like our previous two videos, a lot of this video was filmed up in Scotland. The trench scenes were shot in Kent, and we got some of the tank footage at the tank museum down in Dorset.

It was directed by Stuart Alexander, who has worked with you on a number of your videos, how did your partnership come about? And what made you decide to use him on this track?
We love Stuart’s ideas and ambition. It was actually Ross (producer) who introduced us to Stuart, and we got a long straight away. From the second he pitched us the idea, we couldn’t use anyone else! We had to see that video.

How do you feel the video links with the song?
Stuart really listens to all aspects of the song when coming up with video treatments. We feel this video perfectly fits the vibe of the track, lyrically and musically. That feeling of determination and bravery is such a huge factor in both the audio and the visual.

Now the track is out there, what next? What are your plans for the next few months?
We’re taking a few months off now. To absorb all that’s happened over the last few years and get ready for the next album craziness! We feel like it’s well needed, but can’t wait to get back out there.
