Little Triggers - 'I'm Alright'

Liverpool rockers Little Triggers are alright!

‘I’m Alright’ is proper balls to the wall rock n’ roll. At 1:53, Little Triggers pack a fierce punch in such a short time space. The song begins with an almost metal intro with a descending riff and hell for leather rhythm section. ‘I’m Alright’ then turns to a hard garage rock riff similar to The Hives.

The vocals are of the same ilk of classic rock n’ roll, along the lines of Little Richard and The Sonics. The melodies are sang with power and memorable hooks. For guitar solo lovers, there is a sick guitar solo played with guts over virtuosity, volume at 11, with the amp sounding on the verge of explosion. Following this, there is a breakdown then another chorus. A lot to pack in to less than two minutes!

Little Triggers bring back the raw power and fun that came with the glam proto-punk bands such as New York Dolls with ‘I’m Alright’. Luckily, this song is original in its own right and does not get boring with repeated listens. More than anything, it gets better.
