Seafret - 'Fall'

Hailing from Bridlington, Seafret have released their new single ‘Fall’, following several EPs and an album. The powerful single, encompasses hope and is an anthem for overcoming the odds against you and succeeding. It has a dramatic start with a beat that gets you pumped up, with the lyrics ‘looking back at the times you were fearless/ They want me to fall/ Tell me what you’re waiting for’.

It is a determined song, perfect for the days when you need a boost of the I can do this feeling, and the video encompasses that.

Directed by Stuart Alexander (who also directed videos for the duo’s previous singles ‘Monsters’ and ‘Loving You’), the video takes us into the battlefield of war as they fight against enemy lines. The video is as powerful as the lyrics, and perfectly matches the sentiment of the song, with the end showing a wounded soldier getting up from the ground and carrying on. The video has an underlying message that love can get us through anything, with it cutting to a girl in the future finding a soldier’s locket, with a picture inside of him and his partner.

The single comes after a successful year for the band, having completed their UK and European tour and supporting the Scarborough leg of Lewis Capaldi’s tour.
