New York based singer-songwriter Amy Jay shares melancholy indie folk with a tranquil temperament on current single, ‘Bide My Time’.

Amy Jay takes sorrow and channels it into something incredibly beautiful on reflective new single ‘Bide My Time’. Opening with a warm and mellow acoustic guitar melody, Jay’s voice comes in on the dejected lyrics “I wish I could thrive on disappointment.. I’d be so productive if I were powered by letdowns” with an aching honesty and lulling grace that will appeal to Phoebe Bridgers fans.

On the track, Jay explains “‘Bide My Time’ is a story of trying to be patient with yourself when you know things aren't going your way and you're exhausted from trying”.

Jay and producers Gabe Miller and Jon Seale juxtapose the sadness and fatigue in the lyrical theme by creating a lush, melodic soundbed that swirls with a gentle uplifting ambience, providing a relaxed and contemplative atmosphere full of warmth and tenderness. ‘Bide My Time’ channels an islandic folk kind of sound that feels solitary and intimate, awash with aquatic textures but also tight and welcoming.

’Bide My Time’ is the title track and lead single taken from Jay’s poignant new album and sits nicely alongside the more funereal, ‘Remember’, and the touching folk rock single, ‘The Commute’, showing off three thoughtfully crafted songs that makes its listener feel less alone when journeying through life’s bleaker moments.
