’Moonless’ delivers itself in monochrome tones, initially seeping shades of sadness and troubled thoughts in each purposeful piano note. The track moves at a swift pace as Mowry creates a grey, shifting soundscape of turbulent emotion. But its also a deeply beautiful and elegant track that weeps with evocative despair, but also, screams of hope and catharsis.
Its that perfect contemporary classical soundtrack to that emotive and exhilarating caught in the rain scene in a period drama where star-crossed lovers must lost themselves and feel the pinch of potentially losing one another, before finally come back together.
’Moonless’ is juxtaposed by the more upbeat and grandiose eaning tones of ‘Only Stars’ seeing ‘Up Is Endless’ present itself as a lofty and emotive EP where my only complaint is that it ends far too soon.
