SLEEPTAPE - 'Midnight'
SLEEPTAPE set pulses racing again with their renowned heavy rock sound on new single ‘Midnight’.
This four-piece have been grinding out a reputation as one of the best prospects in the music hotbed of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, with their sound making them unique to most acts in the fast-growing scene. SLEEPTAPE have also become known for their highly energetic live shows, with bassist Elliot Johnson hanging from the rafters of the venue commonplace in their live set.
This has earned them support slots for the likes of King No-One, Peace, and Blaenavon, on top of an upcoming headline tour which concludes at Newcastle’s Cobalt Studios. I have seen this band evolve massively over the last year or so, with each release different and improving on the last, ‘Midnight’ is another step in the right direction for what is set to be a defining year.
‘Midnight' maintains SLEEPTAPE’s signature sound with the quick-fire, heavy guitar giving you little time to breathe, but the lyrical content is certainly enhanced in terms of maturity and quality. The track delves deep into the psyche, searching for “self-validation” through going out, which they believe enables the "darker sides" of a person as they look to project an "over-confident" version of yourself.
‘Midnight’ is available now on all major streaming platforms and SLEEPTAPE will conclude their national tour at Cobalt Studios on April 5th.
