Let us introduce you to Young Clancy, who has a new track ‘Grown Lil Boys’ out now, which is taken from his debut EP ‘Friends’. He took a moment to talk to us about the track and his creative process.

‘Grown Lil Boys’ is out now, where was it recorded and what is the track about?
Grown Lil Boys’ was recorded partly in my basement and partly in ngd208 - a top secret studio in the East End run by Gray Rowan and Danny V. It's kind of like that movie "Honey, I Blew up the Kid" where Rick Moranis accidentally makes his baby boy giant and he starts tromping around the city causing this whole disaster.

You are based in Toronto, what is your favorite thing about it?
Pascal Siakam

Having studied English and Creative Writing, who is your favorite author or poet?
Frank Ocean.

You have worked with quite a few creative people, what have been some of your favorite experiences?
This whole EP was done mostly by sending instrumentals to the different artists and waiting to get the vocals back. Every Time I got something back it was so exciting, it was like Christmas except I was never disappointed. Everybody killed it.

What are your plans for the next couple of months?
Over the next couple months I'll be playing some shows and focused on mixing "vol. ii" my solo ep due in the spring.
