The brand new festival Wasteland is not something to miss!
This summer will see brand new outdoor music festival come to the banks of the River Tyne amongst what is looking to be an amazing summer of live music. Spillars Wharf in Newcastle will play host to the first ever Wasteland Festival, and two of the headline acts have just been announced. Heading to the North East this July are indie firm favourites Bloc Party, Frank Turner alongside his band The Sleeping Souls, and a third headline act is to be confirmed.
Bloc Party will headline the first night of the festival, amongst a string of UK shows where they will be playing their debut album from 2005 ‘Silent Alarm’ in full. We can expect to hear tunes like ‘Helicopter’, ‘Banquet’ and ‘Like Eating Glass’.
Alternative, Punk, Folk and Country artist Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls will play Saturday 13th July. His latest album ‘Be More Kind’ was released in 2018, and it will be over a year since he has came to the city to play a show, so it is certain to be a popular one.
With a third headline and a full 3 days of supporting entertainment to still be announced, Wasteland Festival is looking to be an unmissable weekend of entertainment and live music for the North East, and you can grab your tickets now!
