SPLOCO - 'Mary Wanna Cigarette'
SPLOCO’s new tune ‘Mary Wanna Cigarette’ is a dreamy indie blues track soaked in melancholy and melody.
SPLOCO’s new single ‘Mary Wanna Cigarette’ is a chilled, laid-back and dreamy jam. It captures the gloominess of the post party blues, but it has a summer vibe about it. When listening to the track, it reminds me of sitting outside with a beer watching the sunset in late August, thinking about how great it’s been, but knowing that it can’t last forever as winter is around the corner. This is what SPLOCO nail. The outro of ‘“ got lost, but I found my way back to Cindy’s house” will get the crowd singing along yet everyone will have had that same feeling at some point in their lives.
In this sense, I would compare SPLOCO and ‘Mary Wanna Cigarette’ to Kurt Vile. It’s a poetic and melodic track of melancholy but features cool fuzzy bluesy guitar leads. It’s a great track. It will have you singing along and if you like songs that tug at the heartstrings, you definitely need to give it a listen.
