The Artist Explains: Ariano - 'No Avatar' (Show Me Who You Are)

Rapper/singer-songwriter Ariano talks us through the trippy and creative visuals for ‘No Avatar’ feat Josh Dominguez. which reflects on the way society communicates in the social media age.

Where was the video for “No Avatar” filmed?
The video was filmed in Los Angeles at the director’s production studio on green screen.

How does the video connect with the song?
The video is reflects the need for real life contact and far less flaunting on social media. Showing people who you are beyond your avatar.

Any behind the scenes stories you could share with us?
It can be very tricky pretending like your in a world when your in front of green screens. I was on a green treadmill and walked about 10 miles in place [laughs].

Can you tell us about the ideas, themes, imagery used?
A lot of themes for vanity, and hiding behind the computer.  The stage is the internet and we are the puppets.

What do you hope people take away from watching the vid?
I want people to wonder how this video was done, while being impacted by the message. I want people to move and get up and feel empowered, and not be afraid to show people who they really are (for better and for worse).
