Standon Calling: Top Five Acts to See This Weekend

unnamed-98.jpg

Standon Calling is fast approaching this weekend, and we can’t wait for it! With some of the hottest acts, and hopefully even hotter weather, this festival has all the means for an absolutely amazing weekend in Hertfordshire.

As well as some of the huge names on the lineup (anyone heard of this Lewis Capaldi fella?), there are plenty of acts on across the weekend that are likely to become your new favourites. We’ve brought together five standouts that you just have to see across the weekend, you can thank us later!

The Japanese House
Also known as Amber Bain, The Japanese House is something not to be missed. Playing to arenas when supporting The 1975, she has gained quite the following, which will only be sure to grow after her stop in Standon as part of her extensive festival run this summer.

Mahalia
One of the most exciting female voices on the scene at the moment, Mahalia’s fun and soulful R&B will most definitely be a hit on the main stage on Saturday.

Sea Girls
Since Sea Girls have blasted onto the indie scene, they’ve made a name for themselves with their growing catalogue of bangers. Songs such as Call Me Out and Damage Done sound perfect for festivals, to which I’m sure they will prove when they take to the stage on Friday!

Inhaler
Hailing from Dublin, Inhaler are very much a band on the rise. In the space of six months, they’ve gone from no released studio music, to being on the bill for Noel Gallagher at Heaton Park. We feel their rise is more than justified and think you’ll agree once you catch their set!

Emma McGrath
Hertfordshire’s very own Emma McGrath is gaining more and more fans by every release, with her most recent single “Other Side” receiving acclaim from both radio and fellow musicians alike. Her infectious pop will be brought to the main stage on Saturday afternoon.
