Michael Gallagher - 'Gone'

Michael Gallagher continues to produce the goods as he takes us back to the late noughties with his new single ‘Gone’.

It has certainly been a busy year for the Hartlepool-born guitarist, with the crowning achievement thus far being the release of his debut EP and new music has certainly come as a surprise, so soon after its release.  Gallagher has also continued to grow his presence on the North East live scene, with appearances at the likes of Stockton Calling, Heelapalooza and the recent announcement of an upcoming headline slot at Newcastle’s Think Tank? Underground.

The closing track of Gallagher’s EP, ‘Sometimes’, eluded to what we could have expected from Gallagher going forward in terms of sound and ‘Gone’ certainly doesn’t disappoint. You’re hooked from the beginning of the leading guitar riff, reminiscent of the late 00’s indie sound from the likes of The Kooks. The chorus will have you tapping your foot and humming long after the 3:08 minutes are over, ‘Gone’ is another excellent effort from Michael Gallagher and will certainly prove to be a favourite in a live setting.
