All aboard! Mille Turner takes us on a journey with new track ‘Ride This Train’, she took a moment to talk to us about David Bowie and inspiring people to think outside the box.

Who are you top three musical inspirations?
Nina Simone, her piano influence and how she brings together jazz and classical piano is incredible. Bowie, and how he uses stories in his lyrics that really resonate with me. And I love Lorde, her ability to create intense emotional pop is incredible.

Is there a certain film that inspires you?
A lot of films, but my most inspiring one would be Strictly Ballroom by Baz Lurhman, it’s my favourite film and does everything for, with no reason attached other than it being the best film in existence.

What city do you find the most inspiring?
London, there’s always something going on, someone doing something that no ones seen before. It’s the interesting people that make it for me.

Who is the most inspiring person to you?
People like Greta thunberg is someone who i find currently really inspiring. She’s a young girl who’s been patronised and looked down on by most people in power and yet she seems to really not care.

What were your inspirations when writing the track?
Wanting to write something to inspire myself almost, like a note to self song, keep feeling inspired.

How would you like to inspire people?
i want to inspire them to think outside of what they do, create, make, surround themselves with.
