Love Fame Tragedy - 'Riding A Wave'

Love Fame Tragedy has released tracks which have been anthemic and euphoric. His latest offering, ‘Riding A Wave’ follows this trend. It’s the third track from his upcoming solo EP, ‘Five Songs To Briefly Fill The Void’, which is due for release next month.

‘Riding A Wave’ is energetic and as catchy as ever. The song tells of the emotional ups and downs of being in a relationship, as Love Fame Tragedy reassures himself, “I’m just riding a wave”. The lyrics are candid and endearing, “She like heavy weekends and chamomile tea/ She likes me drunk but not when i'm out of control”.

“The lyrics are definitely the most personal I’ve ever written. I'm pretty sure anyway. It was recorded in London and took on several shapes before we landed on one that stuck,” Murph explains.

There is a sense of desperation in his voice, perhaps a sense of exasperation at the circumstances he is dealing with. Fans who happened to be at Reading Festival last summer may have heard the debut performance of ‘Riding A Wave’ alongside other songs from the upcoming EP.

Love Fame Tragedy is LA-based but will be back in the UK soon for a tour and a performance at Neighbourhood Weekender.
