The Artist Explains: LEAP - 'N.L.T.D.'

LEAP_red.jpg

Just as LEAP was about to make musical waves across the world, he faced an internal mental struggle that precluded him from venturing further down his path. His debut solo track "N.L.T.D." chronicles this, furthering the necessary conversation of mental health in music.

Where was the video for 'N.L.T.D.' filmed?
At OMEARA, a brilliant music venue in London. Strangely enough also the location for our debut headline show on Feb 29th!

How does the video connect with the song?
The journey through the deranged hallway is based loosely around the tail end of a London warehouse party. That 7 a.m area where only the brave or bewildered remain. The song is a testament to those closest that are willing to ride that wave with you.

Do you have any behind the scenes stories you could share with us?
Oh yes! Setting off a flare inside the main building was an errr…interesting idea from the director. Alarms blazing, fire department rang. Just your average music video shoot really haha

Could you tell us about the ideas/themes/imagery used?
Gaspar Noet’s “Enter The Void” was a big influence for me in terms of imagery. Always been a big fan of his work and the sort of dark beauty it portrays.

What do you hope people take away from watching the video.
This is a song I wrote going through some of most turbulent times with mental health. Though my main ambition is for people to come away feeling uplifted from the music and ideally, excited for the live shows!
