TV People – ‘Kitchen Sinking’

Dublin quartet TV People’s latest single ‘Kitchen Sinking’ is soulful indie-garage at its finest. Littered with slick guitar lines, TV People play with swagger. There is a hint of Palma Violets in there (remember them?) and you would be forgiven for thinking they were around in the 00s garage revival scene in New York.

The band have already created a timeless indie garage sound in ‘Kitchen Sinking’ that ‘details the frictions of polarising perspectives’. The long melancholic vocal notes in the verse are complimented by equally poignant guitar lines, whilst the rhythm section keep it tight whilst retaining a cool vibe about it. The chorus isn’t heavy, but the subtle difference in the way the band play drives the song even further into the heartstrings.

With ‘Kitchen Sinking’, TV People are definitely ones to keep on your radar for 2020.
