Dizzy – 'This Must Be The Place'

Announcing their upcoming ‘Basement Covers’ EP on November 13th, Canadian four-piece Dizzy shared its lead single, a stunning cover of Talking Heads’ ‘This Must Be The Place’.

Covering a classic can be an intimidating task, but Dizzy well and truly make ‘This Must Be The Place’ their own by stripping it down to the basics and giving the track a complete makeover. By replacing the original’s funky rhythms with slow moving melancholy and adding their distinctive brand of intoxicatingly emotive vocal harmonies, Dizzy make the song shine in more atmospheric colours. “’This Must Be The Place’ took on a new meaning once quarantine hit,” frontwoman Katie explains. “We chose to cover it because it seemed like the perfect push and pull between being on the road and missing home and missing being on tour with your band while being stuck in quarantine.”

Dizzy’s ‘This Must Be The Place’ is a stunning take on a classic. A promising first single, it fuels excitement and expectations for their upcoming EP that not only includes their most-beloved covers but never-before-heard renditions of The National and Britney Spears.
