The Artist Explains: Tsar B - 'Flitch' (feat. Nova Twins)
Tsar B’s front lady Justine Bourgeus talks us through her fish eye visuals for fierce and unforgiving single, ‘Flitch’ (feat. Nova Twins).
Where was the video for ‘Flitch’ filmed?
It was filmed in our houses aka Brussels & London. Our living rooms were connected through a wormhole, we each pasted an iPhone to the wall and did multiple performances to the song. It was a challenging but fun experience but the best we could do in this lockdown situation.
How does the video connect with the song?
It's just our Puff daddy side that came to the surface there, haha!
Do you have any behind the scenes stories you can share with us?
Well, I bought this checkered floor for the video which appeared to be way bigger than I expected (filled in the wrong measurements, lol) so now this is still my floor in my living room and I play human size chess on it ever since. Getting it here was quite the challenge but now it serves as a daily reminder of the video. My roommates' opinion on it is... divided, haha.
Could you tell us about the ideas/ themes/ imagery used?
We just loooove fish eye. Fish eye is life. So the video is... fish eye.
What is the message the video is trying to convey?
That we will never ever be friends with people that did us wrong. Ever!
