All Things Blue - 'Legend Of Chav'
Los Angeles based band All Things Blue release new Lo-fi rock single, ‘Legend Of Chav’.
At the opening of All Things Blue’s ‘Legend Of Chav’ the girlie, spaced out, yet punky vocals delivered by the singer, India Coombs accompanies the eminently balanced sweet melancholy of the track. As the song develops, the twangy tone of the guitars conveys a perfect feeling of nostalgia, just before it finally starts building an abrupt drop which is followed by a blast of surf punk vibes.
The sound is made whole by the crunchiness of the bass as well as the flat and punchy drums, echoing distinguishable traces of influences such as Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon’s in India Coombs’ vocals.
‘Legend Of Chav’ reflects a new era as much as it sounds like a throwback to the youthful music scene of the 80s and early 90s, a new and old scene where female individuals represent an entire generation of the perfect balance between softness and aggression.
