KOKO - 'Why Can't You See Me?'

KOKO prove to us they deserve that ‘hype band’ status with current single ‘Why Can’t You See Me?’.

The last track one their alt-pop EP ‘All Together Now’ sees KOKO taking risks with this song, stripping back their sound to the bare minimum with simple sustained pads and an acoustic guitar. It shows a band unafraid to push themselves outside the box, and it pays off beautifully as they break down boundaries.

“This song is about choosing between right and wrong,” say the band “There is a time in everyone’s life where you have to make that decision for the best of a relationship” - and the tones within the track portray this message greatly, providing a stunning end to this adventurous EP of theirs.

After a sold out show in January, the band’s plans have been put on hold due to the current pandemic - with no live shows, no studio sessions, and only remote writing via Zoom. While their EP was written before lockdown took hold, it’s message is still current - “No matter what life throws at you, you have to have a positive outlook. Surrounding yourself with good people and good vibes in everything that you do.”.

This release sees a band with a promising future and that when it comes to fresh ideas - KOKO are full of them and not afraid to act.
