Eighteen-Year-old new pop darling Matilda Cole makes a striking entrance with debut single ‘The Clouds’.

In the digital era, where everything can be accessed by clicking a simple button, it has become easier to find new music. However, the overwhelming amount of content has made it harder to find truly rough diamonds just like new pop artist Matilda Cole.

She makes her musical debut with a truly dazzling track which showcases not only her great songwriting abilities but also her stunning and powerful voice. With an air of angsty teenage drama, the indie pop single ‘The Clouds’ narrates a story of her friendships, loves and loses. As she explains, “The Clouds is like a look into my diary when I was 16. The song and the video evoke that kind of hazy pink warmth that’s intertwined with female friendship, first heartbreak and adolescence - paired with the blurred perspective of those feelings that comes with growing up.”

Accompanying the track, Matilda also shares an exquisitely curated set of visuals directed by Amy Becker-Burnett. In the video, the different faces of a friendship are portrayed very accurately showing the good and the bad, ultimately exuding an overwhelmingly relatable feeling of love for the other person. With such an honest and powerful track alongside such striking visuals, we can’t wait to see what else Matilda has in store for us as she positions herself in a crowded musical space while bringing a unique proposal that will certainly set her apart.
