Milwaukee based duo REYNA explore the highs and lows of long distance relationships on latest release, ‘ 7'11’.

Co-written with indie-pop duo Coast Modern, ‘7’11’ sees REYNA sister duo Vic and Gabby Banuelos continue to dip a tentative toe into experimental territory while retaining strong pop hooks. Swaggering with a warm idiosyncratic groove, ‘7’11’ is a floaty sound, accompanied by an atmospheric and playful melt-on-your-ears vocal melody. There’s robuster moments on the track which are displayed through quirky layers of synth and distorted guitars, but no matter how many textures are filtered in and out of the song, ‘7’11’ remains fluid, airy and addictive in its entirety.

”7’11 was the day I met my girlfriend, I wrote this song thinking about how we were both hesitant to give into the relationship because it started long distance.” Vic explains. “Everything was new and exciting but scary at the same time. I was all in and I wanted it to work so this was my “everything will work itself out” anthem. Sort of an invitation to her to let go and give our love a chance. Which we did, it was the most amazing connection and I loved every minute of it. We aren’t together any more, this song is just a reminder that you can want something really bad and try really hard but maybe it’s just not in the cards and that’s okay. Dance it out.”

Out now, ‘7’11’ is accompanied by self directed visuals inspired by the film ‘A Ghost Story’ which you can watch below!
