Emma McGrath - 'Getaway Train'
British singer/songwriter Emma McGrath is back to mystify us once more with new single ‘Getaway Train’.
The track comes with the announcement of her new EP - which is due out next year on the 15th January via Young Poet Records. It provides the softest moment from the forthcoming release - a delicate piano ballad that deals with the feelings of isolation, and reminding us on why we fell in love with Emma in the first place. A breathtakingly fragile, falsetto voice that creates it’s own atmosphere that you can’t help but breathe in with one giant gasp.
Speaking of the new single, Emma said: “This is probably the oldest song from this EP and it takes me back to the time where I was feeling like music was always in the way of everything else in life. I was so in love with music but it was a complicated relationship. I wrote and recorded the song after an argument with my mum. We ended up using the original demo vocals and arrangement which felt really nice. I remember having to sing it really quietly because everyone was in bed. It’s a sad song but it captured that moment of my life really well.”
Last month Emma announced her first socially distanced show at The Horn, St Albans. Strong demand led to a matinee performance being added, but due to the new four week lockdown both shows have now been rescheduled to 20th December. Tickets are available HERE.
