Ena Fay - 'Tie My Hands'

London based singer songwriter Ena Fay makes intimate ballads feel brand new on stunning new single, ‘Tie My Hands’.

’Tie My Hands’ makes a relaxed introduction for itself, opening with chilled piano keys that seep a warm sophistication. However, Ena Fay doesn’t want her listener to feel too settled or safe. ‘Tie My Hands’ soon ups its tempo, seeing the piano melody become more niggling, emotive and urgent as Fay laments, “being your lover, only your lover is so exhausting”.

As the track develops, Fay effortlessly toys between these laid back and urgent dynamics, making sure the emotion of the piece is fully realised. Fay’s distinctive vocal spills a sweet grief as she explores the theme of settling for less than you deserve in a romantic pairing. Fay isn’t afraid to explore theatrical melodies, and possessing a peculiar and enticing vocal, which calls to mind Bjork and Kate Bush, why wouldn’t she?

One of the main things that makes ‘Tie My Hands’ and its accompanying visuals so special is its hugely emotive appeal. It is evident that Fay has boundless creativity and authentic storytelling, which makes it very easy to like her.
